Secular Humanists

The next Secular Humanist meeting willl be on the SECOND Tuesday, Nov. 14th, 2023, instead of our usual third Tuesday because of the proximity of the third Tuesday to Thanksgiving. Barbara Beaumont will lead this month’s meeting. As announced earlier, this meeting will be based on a book available for purchase/rent on Amazon: “Why We Believe in God(s)”: A Concise Guide to the Science of Faith. As the title suggests, it’s a short read. The book discusses both the physiology and psychology of the development of religious ideas. If for any reason you can’t get ahold of the book or don’t have time to read it, I think that the discussion of the ideas will still be an interesting one, and we would like to see you on the 14th.
A brand new paperback copy runs $12.39 on Amazon if you’d like your own. Sometimes there are also used copies available, and if you have a Kindle, a copy on Amazon costs only $9.99 and appears, of course, immediately on your device. Get a copy when you can; it’s a great read.
