Iowa UU Witness Advocacy Network

Due to the diligence of IUUWAN’s Environmental Justice Team, postcard writing to Wisconsin environmental voters is happening in eight UU congregations in Iowa.  Over 700 postcards will be mailed to Wisconsin on October 15.

Another initiative of IUUWAN involves educating Iowa UUs about Project 2025, a promotion by the American Heritage Foundation to set a Republican agenda, which would take away hard-earned rights by labor, individuals who are LGBTQ+ and women’s health care.  Immigrants would be rounded up and detained in massive facilities near the border.  To educate about the Heritage Foundation’s plans, IUUWAN sent a fact sheet on Project 25 and anti-2025 stickers to each Iowa UU congregation.

Finally, IUUWAN has been promoting the UU Climate Justice Revival by supplying information about the revival and offering support to smaller congregations by providing facilitators. The UUA Green Sanctuary offered additional financial support to IUUWAN to assist smaller Iowa congregations. Check out the IUUWAN website. Special thanks goes to Kirk Witzberger for helping set it up!
