Free Lunch Program’s November 2023 Update
On Friday, November 10th, 125 meals were served and consisted of a cheesy ham and potato hash brown casserole with fruit and green salads on the side. We had the usual drinks and cookies, too! Thank you to the Nighthawks Covenant Group for providing the delightful fare! There were no leftovers!
It was a beautiful, unseasonably warm day in Iowa City. We had plenty of volunteers and used the 1105 kitchen to prepare the meal.
Preparations began at 8:00 AM under the direction of Vicki Siefers and Frank Wildensee. Our volunteers for the day were Barb Haring, Christina Randall, Mary Dix, Carolyn Johnson, Bob Littlehale, David Quegg, Chris Smith, Terri O’Berry, Janet McKee, Joy Thompson, Russ Lenth, Joe Rasmussen, and John Elson.
A good time was had by all!
