The Kindred Spirits Covenant Group held our Tapas Party fundraiser to support the service project we publicized in the November Newsletter and Weekly update. The fundraiser was in support of an asylum seeker waiting for their asylum case to be processed. We made over $2000!
To sponsor someone seeking asylum, we have to have $5000 to support them plus a place for them to stay. They will stay with Fannie Carver and her husband which means funding can support their legal fees and other expenses.
Outside of this fundraiser, we’ve raised $1,850 from donations for this cause. People interested in donating can give online or send a check to UUS with Asylum in the memo line.
